Depends on what you mean by safe.
If you're looking to hide what you are doing on I2P, this may not be the best option.
If you're trying to minimize your footprint with I2P usage, this is probably the best option.

I'm in the process of working on my own phpBB board/mods.
I plan on releasing mods specifically to work with i2p (currently bote is my main focus).

I may release bbcode's for things like i2pmessenger, bote, and hidden services for the mod.

Is there a place where we can advertise new i2p sites/services?
I think the old i2p forums had a place for advertising messenger addresses (i2p messenger, bote, and susimail) kind of like a Greetings section.

I was just looking into seeing what it would take to get bote working with phpBB and came across those configs.

You could use the header information instead of 127.0.0.1

It is possible but would require an additional I2P router setup (non-phone version).
