Export the contact list

Post by lgillis »

In MuWire's options under "Trust" there is a setting that should allow other participants to view their own contacts (OPTIONS_ALLOW_TRUST_LIST).

How or where can participants view each other's contact lists?

Is there a possibility to export the contact lists into one instead of each contact individually?

In the "Contacts" tab on the main window, there is a "Subscribe" button (middle-right of the window). If you select a contact and press that button, an entry will appear in the bottom table. Then MuWire will periodically try to fetch the contact list of each contact whom it's subscribed to.

If the fetch is successful - that means the contact is online and they are permitting to share their contact list - the "Review" button in the bottom of the window will be enabled. When you select a contact from the bottom table and click "Review" you will see their contact list and have the option to add their contacts to your contact list.

Not from the gui, but if you want to move your contact list between two MuWire instances for example you can copy the files "$HOME/.config/MuWire/trusted" and "$HOME/.config/MuWire/distrusted". They are text files and you can view or modify them with a text editor, but that is not recommended.
