Invisible comments on wiki.i2p-projekt.i2p

Whenever I edit wiki pages, I see some comments that look like this:

It doesn't seem to do anything. Is there a reason for these comments, and should they be kept or removed?

That’s a funny story, I think.

These comments are the result of intentional forced translation as seen in PO editors in software development.

After a few astute people realized that strange languages other than their own existed, they did what is common in these circles. Instead of allowing the foreign cultures to have their own representations, they should be translated word for word, sentence for sentence, from the one true language.

One problem that arose from this was that I wrote many of the texts in German and only then translated them into English - because of the lingua franca - and these English translations now had to be forcibly translated into German.

So can I remove them? They don't seem to serve any purpose.
